How these figures are calculated

Each estimate applies the state's general transfer duty schedule, as published by the state revenue office, to the example price. Duty can differ for landholder acquisitions, foreign purchasers, related-party transfers, exemptions and concessions, and states change their rules. Check the official calculator before relying on any figure.
