About
A borrower-side resource for finance outside the banks
Privet helps people understand private and commercial property finance before they commit: how it works, what it can cost, and what to ask.
Why Privet exists
Private, bridging and development lending moves quickly and is structured very differently from a bank loan. Most borrowers see a deal from one side only. Privet puts plain-English explanations, government-sourced figures and practical calculators in one place, so you can understand the numbers and ask better questions.
Why the name
Privet is the classic garden hedge. It marks a clear boundary and gives privacy. We are clear about what we are and are not, your workspace stays on your own device, and we would rather you made a steady, informed decision than a rushed one.
Know the numbers before the lender does.
Where figures come from
Every rate, threshold and rule on the site comes from an Australian government source and shows that source and its date. We never publish lender rates, rankings or ratings. Read our methodology and editorial policy.
Where we are
Privet is based in Melbourne, Victoria and covers all Australian states and territories. Contact us.
Privet may receive a referral fee or commission from finance providers if an enquiry proceeds. This does not change the information shown on this site, and you are never obliged to proceed. How Privet is funded
